In addition to the European Funds, regional policy developed by the General State Administration is applied through other instruments.
The two most important ones are, by their characteristics and financial size, the “Interterritorial Compensation Fund”, for which management of the project is the responsibility of the General Directorate for European Funds, while payments are managed by the General Directorate for Territorial Funding, and “Regional State Aid”, managed by the General Directorate of European Funds of the Ministry of the Treasury, in application of the provisions of the Regional Incentives Act 50/85, of 27 December 1985.
