Urban II is the Community initiative by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) which encourages sustainable development for cities and districts in crisis in the European Union in 2000-2006.
After the first stage of Urban in 1994-1999, Urban II is designed more specifically to promote the drafting and implementation of innovative models of development which will encourage economic and social regeneration in urban areas in crisis. The programme will also intensify the exchange of information and experiences in sustainable urban development in the European Union.
